Community Programs

We offer a number of programs to the community free of charge. They include:

  • Citizen's Police Academy
  • Superhero 5K
  • Community Officer Drug Education Program (C.O.D.E.)
  • Domestic Violence Awareness Walk
  • Neighborhood Watch Programs
  • S.A.F.E.
  • Senior Watch
  • Youth Summer Camp
  • Civilian Response to Active Threat

Not only are we able to offer these programs free, but also the monies used to pay for these valuable assets are the result of fundraising efforts and not tax dollars. We are proud that our programs have served as models for other Police Departments in South Carolina and other States as well.

Citizen Police Academy

The Fountain Inn Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy (CPA) is a free, interactive community program designed to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at local law enforcement. Participants will learn how the department is structured, how officers are hired and trained, and how policing works in real-world situations through classroom instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. The program fosters open communication, builds understanding, and strengthens relationships between the police department and the community.

Superhero 5K

Come participate in the 7th Annual Superhero 5k for Autism, hosted by the Fountain Inn Police Department, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, starting at 8:30 a.m.

This is a family-friendly event, and adults and children of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in this walk/run to celebrate our wonderful community. Many of our individuals absolutely love superheroes and can connect to them on a personal level, and we want them to be SUPER excited to see hundreds of caped crusaders fully decked out in superhero costumes. Our goal is to have over 400 caped crusaders.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Friends of the Little White House and their efforts to provide services to children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. The official route is certified through USATF / RRCA code SC19046DW.

S.A.F.E.

Safety Awareness for Everyone Program ApplicationWe want to encourage everyone with a special needs family member to sign up for the SA.F.E. program. All information provided by the family or guardian will not only ensure the safety of the citizen, but also help the responders with much needed information that could be crucial to de-escalating a situation or assisting that individual. Our goal with this program is to be proactive, so we can help you the best way possible if a situation were to arise! Register using our online form.

Civilian Response to Active Threat

Civilian Response to Active Threat is a free program designed to educate the community in how to respond to an active threat and look for signs of potential hazards. The police department offers these classes to churches, civic groups, school PTA's, and business.
