Community Programs
We offer a number of programs to the community free of charge. They include:
- Citizen's Police Academy
- Superhero 5K
- Community Officer Drug Education Program (C.O.D.E.)
- Neighborhood Watch Programs
- S.A.F.E.
- Senior Watch
- Youth Summer Camp
- Civilian Response to Active Threat
Not only are we able to offer these programs free, but also the monies used to pay for these valuable assets are the result of fundraising efforts and not tax dollars. We are proud that our programs have served as models for other Police Departments in South Carolina and other States as well.

Golf Tournament
Our Annual Community Patrol Golf Tournament at Carolina Springs Golf Course is a fundraising activity for our Community Outreach programs such as Senior Watch, Superhero 5k, and Youth Summer Camps. Contact Sgt. Troy McBride at troy.mcbride@fountaininn.org for more information.
Community Officer Drug Education Program (C.O.D.E.)
C.O.D.E. is taught by Community Patrol Officers to 5th graders at Fountain Inn Elementary School. C.O.D.E. is a 20 week program designed to promote open discussion on topics such as peer pressure, bullying, alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamines, internet and personal safety. Students are assigned 12 homework assignments and pledge to remain drug free. Approximately 3,000 students have completed this program since 1999.
National Night Out
National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2021. NNO is a free family evening held on Main Street from 6pm to 8pm. If you would like to volunteer or have a booth for National Night Out, contact Sgt. Troy McBride at 864-908-3668 or troy.mcbride@fountaininn.org.
Neighborhood Watch Programs

S.A.F.E.
We want to encourage everyone with a special needs family member to sign up for the SA.F.E. program. All information provided by the family or guardian will not only ensure the safety of the citizen, but also help the responders with much needed information that could be crucial to de-escalating a situation or assisting that individual. Our goal with this program is to be proactive, so we can help you the best way possible if a situation were to arise! Register using our online form.

Citizen's Police Academy
The 2021 Citizens Police Academy begins Tuesday, March 2, 2021, classes are from 6pm to 8pm. The CPA is a 12 week long program designed to dispel myths surrounding law enforcement and create community transparency and dialogue. Contact Sgt. Civilian Response to Active Threat
Civilian Response to Active Threat is a free program designed to educate the community in how to respond to an active threat and look for signs of potential hazards. The police department offers these classes to churches, civic groups, school PTA's, and business. Contact Sgt. Troy McBride to schedule a class.
