When any type of proposed excavation is to occur all of the underground utilities in the excavation area must be marked. Electric lines will be marked in red, gas lines in yellow, communication and CATV in orange, water lines in blue and your sewer lines in green. Remember that a locator is not going to mark the private lines you have installed yourself. These include septic tank lines and underground electric to garages or pools.
To ensure safe, efficient, and consistent service for all customers, the City of Fountain Inn Public Works Department only collects solid waste that is placed inside approved containers. Trash placed outside of carts will not be collected. This policy helps protect our staff, maintain route efficiency, and keep our community clean.
Public Works trucks compact all collected waste. Propane tanks are pressurized and can explode when compacted, creating dangerous conditions for our team and equipment. For this reason, propane tanks and similar items are prohibited from curbside collection and require proper disposal.
